The Pyramids of Giza are some of the most iconic and impressive structures in the world. Located on the outskirts of Cairo, Egypt, the Great Pyramid of Giza is the oldest and largest of all the pyramids, and is the only remaining one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Standing at nearly 481 feet and made from over 2 million limestone blocks, it is an incredible feat of engineering. It is believed to have been built over a 20 year period for the Pharaoh Khufu, and is thought to have been the tomb for his body.

The other two pyramids at Giza, the Pyramid of Khafre and the Pyramid of Menkaure, were built for Khufu's successors and are slightly smaller in size. They are accompanied by the Great Sphinx, a limestone statue of a lion with a human head that stands guard over the pyramids and the ancient city of Memphis. Together, the Pyramids of Giza are some of the most well-known symbols of ancient Egypt and a popular tourist destination. It is estimated that more than 4 million people visit the site each year, making it one of the most visited archaeological sites in the world.
